Neonatologist -Level II NICU

The Department of Neonatology at the hospital is seeking a full-time
Neonatologist for the NICU.
The successful candidate will be one who has a proven record of
dedication to patient care, experience with teaching, and whose
interests include clinical and quality improvement research. The
Neonatologist must also possess outstanding interpersonal skills and
have a proven experience of work in a team focused environment. The
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a Level 2B unit and cares for infants
who are born at 32 weeks' gestation or greater. We have over 1000
deliveries and the NICU has over 100 admissions each year. The NICU is
staffed 24 hours a day by a team of 4 board-certified neonatologists and
1 neonatal nurse practitioner. The neonatologists also provide coverage
of the Newborn Nursery. The units registered nurses have an average of
10 years experience in neonatal intensive care. Our current group
operates on a 24-hour shift schedule, with an experienced neonatal nurse
practitioner in-house some nights to allow for beeper call from home,
which affords a great work-life balance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and continually update a strategic plan for the NICU for the
highest quality of care for patients in the NICU.
Participate in clinical research as appropriate.
Provide educational support to Residents and Fellows
Ability to function in a Level II NICU
Comfortable managing babies with CPAP and ventilation support
Provide family-centered care.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
An MD, DO, or foreign equivalent with active board certification from
the American Academy of Pediatrics in both Pediatrics and
Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
Academic credentials for a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate
Professor is preferred.
Demonstrate sensitivity to the culture, needs, and aspirations of the
community.
Ability to function in a team environment to support collaboration.
Demonstrated record of supporting patients in a Level II NICU as the
primary physician
Excellent verbal, written and group presentation skills.
Ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania prior to start date.
Unrestricted DEA certification
