Job description:
- Promote a safety-first culture using a Safety Management System, involving employees, supervisors, and plant leaders.
- Create and enforce EHS programs, policies, and procedures to meet regulations and reduce risks.
- Manage cost-effective compliance, safety, and environmental efforts, including projects.
- Oversee waste management and zero-waste strategies.
- Integrate EHS into plant processes, assess, and fix issues.
- Handle EHS training programs.
- Investigate incidents, find causes, and take actions to reduce harm and environmental impact.
- Ensure compliance with environmental rules and corporate EHS standards.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in safety, environmental, health, chemistry, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in OSHA and EPA regulations.
- PSM Ammonia experience is essential.
- Multisite manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Texas DEQ regulations.
- Strong background in both safety and environmental/health aspects.
- Experience in managing direct reports in a complex unionized environment.
