Under the direction of technical supervisor, the ARRT certified, California-licensed technologist performs radiologic procedures in assigned areas at a safe and technical level not requiring constant supervision.  Tech will perform safe imaging procedures on all emergent, inpatient and outpatient age-specific populations.   Diagnostic procedures include, but are not limited to, basic radiographic exams using fixed and portable imaging equipment in various settings such as Outpatient/Inpatient, OR/Hybrid, ER, fluoro and Endoscopy.

Performs various radiographic exams and processes images on various archival systems.  Professionally accountable for submitting high-quality images to PACS.  Participates in performance improvement activities in the department.  Demonstrates excellent customer service to patients.  Correctly identifies patients for the procedures performed and their respective images.  Follows Infection Control policies, radiation policies and good body mechanics.  Maintains appropriate continuing education credits.  Complies with all Medical Center and Department policies and procedures.  Requires ARRT, CRT and California fluoroscopy license.

New hires must perform any radiology procedures until they receive their license (CRT) from the State of California.  New hires may begin their orientation to the department, observe procedures and assist during this time period, which is not to exceed 6 months.  New hires must receive their California fluoroscopy license within the first 6 months of employment or probationary period.  Depending on the department needs, this position may require you to take weekday, weekend or holiday call.

Per diem employees must work at least an average of three shifts per month to maintain equipment and procedure competencies and per diem eligibility.

•Requires ARRT Licensure or ARRT-approved equivalent.

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

IDEAL CANDIDATE
New graduate with 2 or more years of xray experience, with previous exp working in hospital (OR, ER)  and outpatient/clinic setting. Is willing to rotate to other locations when needed to cover shifts. Strong communication, interpersonal, flexible, adaptable skills would be ideal.
