Residential Construction Civil Engineer , Nashville TN
Who are they are looking for:
These Design/Build Residential Builder are developing their own properties & seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to manage the land-development Civil Design projects in the Nashville market.
A Brief on the Position:
This person will play a key role in their design process by performing civil site design "due diligence", designing & drafting land development concept plans, and guiding their clients through the first steps toward bringing their new communities to life. This role will manage third-party engineering companies, and focus on permitting, value engineering, and quality control management.
- Research and collect site-specific information to initiate the land development process and perform site investigative due diligence
- Manage the overall sitework of residential development projects from conception through construction.
- Regularly assist the land acquisition team by designing concept site plans and preliminary grading
- Coordinate project startup by conducting due diligence, obtaining permits and coordinating with local municipalities
- Prepare schematic site plan, grading, and utility plans to illustrate site developability based on learned constraints
- Perform stormwater detention analysis, site utility design, and earthwork analysis to best inform site planning effort for cost and constructability
- Meet with internal and external customers to review concept plans, discuss advantages to multiple approaches, and work to define direction of project with Design/Build contracting team
- Design and draft multi-building land development concept plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D for commercial and industrial uses
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering or other Engineering or Design discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (Engineer of Record) is a plus but NOT required.
- 5 years of civil land engineering experience.
- AutoCad Civil 3D experience creating AutoCAD Civil 3D templates and styles is a plus.
- Ability to perform stormwater detention analysis and site utility design calculations independently.
- Ability to read and understand local zoning codes, stormwater management codes, FWS wetland maps, record civil and survey drawings
Compensation:
- Salary equivalent to experience: $100k-$120k range (DOE)
