Software Product Manager
Location: Newark New Jersey
Salary: 100,000 - 125,000
Job Summary
The
Product Manager will meet with key business stakeholders to develop
prioritized Product Roadmaps in alignment business needs. The Product
Manager will have a vision of what should be built to satisfy the
business need and convey that vision to the teams. Key tasks will
include defining user stories and assessing/documenting business
operations and procedures, and meeting with key business leaders to
understand the business needs.
The
Product Manager will champion Agile software development best practices
and play multiple roles within the Agile framework. This role will
organize and facilitate several Agile ceremonies, refine and maintain
the backlogs, and track Sprint status using burn-down charts. This
person must have a firm understanding of software design, user
interaction, and user interface design and possess professional
working-knowledge in one or more Agile software development
methodologies. Additionally, this person will be responsible for
managing dependencies between the teams and others who impact the Sprint
cadence and deliverables, support capture of various types of
requirements (functional, non-functional, technical, operational etc.)
into an Agile requirements structure – including epics, user and
technical stories, acceptance criteria, tasks, and definition of ready
and done.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•
Actively works to understand the business cycle, supporting processes,
and its customers with the goal of improving the software to meet the
business needs through software automation and electronic content
delivery
• Responsible for adding and breaking down Epics and refining user stories in the backlogs
• Responsible for the software design process (UX/UI design oversight, and user stories) for each product
• Validates understanding of user requests with and presents designs to key business stakeholders
• Work with team members, remote and on-site, to produce knowledge collateral consumed by those who use and support the products

Leads the following Agile Ceremonies: Release and Sprint Planning,
Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, and Release and Sprint
Retrospectives
Basic Requirements
• Firm understanding of software design, user interaction, and user interface design
• Professional working-knowledge of one or more Agile methodologies
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Polished presentation skills
• Proactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problems
• Capable of quickly evaluating and prioritizing user requests
•
Strong ability to take complex user requirements and distill them into
granular tasks that can be both technical and non-technical staff
•
Ability to understand business needs from stakeholders and translate
the needs into products or features that meet the business needs
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a diverse team in an fast-moving environment
• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage time
Equipment and Applications
Working
knowledge of Atlassian Tool-suite, including JIRA and Confluence,
Bitbucket, and PowerPoint, iOS and Android enabled mobile devices,
Windows OS.
General office
environment. Moderate levels of stress may occur at times. No special
physical demands required. Light travel may be required.
